After a year and seven months as Vice Minister of Tourism, our founder Roger Valencia was appointed Peru’s Minister of Commerce and Tourism, in an official act by the new President of the Peru, Martín Vizcarra, at Peru’s Government Palace, on April 2nd , 2018.

This appointment reaffirms the government’s full confidence in Roger, as well as his longtime efforts and dedicated commitment to working for sustainable, inclusive and high- quality tourism in Peru.
We gladly want to share this news with you, as we continue to take on this important challenge, through our own work in developing sustainable tourism at Mt. Apu Ausangate, especially alongside our partner native communities of Chillca and Osefina.
We proudly congratulate the new Minister, and we wish him great success in this important position, which will benefit all Peruvians.
