At Andean Lodges we’re committed to the stewardship and conservation of the natural areas and communities of our region, especially those surrounding our sacred Apu Ausangate.

We consider conservation and proper care of natural areas as essential for the sustainability of our natural heritage. We support and promote this goal at a global level and we carry out responsible practices and sustainable, environmentally-aware tourism activities.
Acceso Panam is an organization dedicated to promoting access to mountaineering and climbing areas, which since 2013 has convoked a simultaneous clean-up action across all Latin America, with the goal of generating positive environmental impacts in the diverse natural landscapes of our continent.
Diverse organizations, climbers’ clubs and people who share a love for the mountains unite under the designation “clean mountain”, to raise awareness about the impacts of human activities in natural areas, and to take part in clean-up actions and to get involved in conservation actions in their own regions.
The “Keep our Mountains Clean 2017” event took place on Sunday, September 17 th, in which we participated in alliance with Mujer Montaña, an association that promotes women’s adventure sports, the 7A Climbing School and the Andes Destination travel agency.
During the clean-up action, we traveled through the areas of Upis and Qampa, covering a 40-kilometer route. Over 20 volunteers, women and men who love the mountains, took part and collected over 70 kilos of waste along the way, as they enjoyed the most beautiful views and natural landscapes.
