About Us
We’re a Cusco-based company, founded in 2006 in association with the people of the peasant communities of Chillca and Osefina. Our goal is to offer unique trekking and lodging experiences on the Apu Ausangate Route, with a focus on community-based rural tourism, and to promote the development of these communities.
Our social vision is to create alternatives for sustainable development that are inclusive, and in balance with the cultural perspectives of the Andean original communities . To those ends, we have been working intensively for the preservation and safeguarding of the natural wealth, ancient knowledge and traditional ways of life of these communities.
Additionally, we’re proud to count on an operations team composed of trained community members, including guides, kitchen personnel, housekeepers, security guards and maintenance personnel. We also work with women weavers of the community, who are keepers of ancestral knowledge .
Our team has over 30 years of experience in the tourism and Andean mountaineering market, and is a pioneer in creating trekking and climbing routes in this amazing natural setting.
Mission
Our mission is to provide our travelers with an unforgettable experience touring and enjoying the natural beauty and cultural richness of the Ausangate Route. In addition, we seek to promote sustainable tourism, focused on preserving the customs, knowledge and traditional ways of working of our indigenous peoples and promoting the strengthening of the labor capacities of the members of our associated communities.
Vision
Our vision is to be the model business for Community-based Tourism in the country, by promoting sustainable development in the communities involved in our project, while guaranteeing the conservation of our ecosystems and natural resources in the High-Andean region, as well as safeguarding its cultural and spiritual heritage, and its traditional ways of livelihood.
